I Want to Buy a Campervan!

So, I want something which is a little bit of a project – something which I can use as a toy at the weekends.
I am currently liking the idea of a VW Camper Van – a Classic one….

Thing is – some come expensive some come cheap – I know the expensive ones are re-con’s and also you can buy a brand new one from Brazil – built by VW Brazil.
Anyone got any experience of these? What to look for – the usual thing like making sure the chassis is sound …

The Modern Type 2 Campervan

You can still buy a Type 2 Campervan!
Now made in Brazil, there are differences between the newer versions of the German-designed classic.  They are now water-cooled rather than air-cooled and they are powered by 1.4 Polo petrol engines.  The nose has been modified to take a radiator grille which does give the front-end a slightly different look.  However, if you are a true VW Geek, you can get a dummy spare wheel cover to hide the modern look.  It’s full of holes, so as to still let the air to …
