ive owned a 1974 VW Beetle 1300 for just over a year and tbh im only just getting into the ’scene’. Im really liking the ‘rat look’ but have no actual clue as to how to go about getting this look/ effect. So i was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as where to start with this. =))

well first you want to drop your car about 2-3 inches by buying dropped spindles then reindex your rear torsion bars to lower the back then maybe narrow the front end a few inches. THat will give you a pretty sweet looking ride. and maybe get a 1600
start buy painting the car primer black or if it’s original paint with rust let that rust shine through. (being a 74 you dont have a bunch of rat rod clout, mostly they run much older models.) get some white walls and paint your rims red. get rid of the chrome. drop it. chop the top. take off the fenders. load pipes. long shifter, and a cool girlfriend. you better start hanging out with those guys before you show up with your poser car.
go to the kcw website ot the samba.com to get ideas
