		<description>I think you can swap in a 1300cc (which is similiar to a 1500 but with a smaller bore..  Super came with 1600 cc stock which again is a 1500 enlarged.  Weightwize, the struts on the Sb made it lighter than the torsionbar in the front.   I had  a carbed unit.</description>

The Super beetle never came with the 1200. Bear in mind the &#039;Super&#039; is a heavier car than the standard 1200.
I know there wasn&#039;t a great deal of difference in power between the two but I think the smaller engine would have to work harder to move your &#039;Bug&#039;.
Bigger doesn&#039;t always mean more gas! Power to weight is more important.</description>
